Apiaries

Snapshots from our managed sites — chosen for floral diversity and forage stability.

Kilham

Nestled on the edge of Kilham village, where the gentle chalk hills cradle a sweeping valley, our apiary thrives in harmony with the land. In the early season, the bees gather nectar from golden fields of oil seed rape and blossoming hawthorn, painting the first strokes of the year’s harvest. As summer unfolds, the landscape bursts into life—brambles weave through hedgerows, Lime trees hum with promise, wildflowers dance across nearby fields, and village gardens bloom with quiet generosity. It is here, in this timeless corner of East Yorkshire, that nature and craft meet in every drop of honey.

Burton Fleming

Tucked within the heart of a serene organic farm, this apiary flourishes amidst nature’s quiet abundance. In spring, the landscape awakens with golden oil seed rape, delicate hawthorn blossoms, and a tapestry of wildflowers that stretch across the fields. As summer deepens, brambles unfurl in rich profusion, followed by the gentle hum of field beans and a renewed bloom of wildflowers threading through hedgerows and meadows. It is a place where the rhythm of the seasons guides the bees, and every jar of honey carries the essence of this living, breathing countryside.

Wetwang

Nestled just a mile beyond Wetwang, this apiary rests within a true wildlife sanctuary—an oasis lovingly cultivated by landowners devoted to biodiversity and the natural world. Elevated above our other sites, its unique altitude lends a distinct character to the honey, adding yet another layer to its rich, complex flavour profile. In spring, golden fields of oilseed rape stretch across the landscape, while summer brings dandelions and wildflowers dancing along the country lanes. Within the haven itself, bees forage among clover, fruit trees, and flowering shrubs—a tapestry of nectar sources that shape the honey into something truly special.

Pockthorpe Ruins

A select few hives remain here year-round, producing honey in serene seclusion.Encircled by ancient hedgerows and mature trees, the site is a haven for wildlife: owls glide silently overhead, hares dart through the undergrowth, and the air hums with quiet vitality. In spring, the bees forage among oilseed rape and blossoming hawthorn; summer brings dandelions, brambles, wildflowers, and flowering trees in abundance. The result is a honey rich in character, drawn from a diverse and natural palette of nectar and pollen.Due to the limited number of production hives, each jar from this apiary is a rare treasure—an exclusive batch that speaks to the quiet magic of this historic landscape.

Ravenscar

Perched high on the rugged edge of the North Yorkshire Moors, atop a commanding 600-foot headland, our Heather Apiary gazes out across the storied sweep of Robin Hood’s Bay. Sheltered from the moorland winds by dense, golden gorse, this haven offers our bees direct passage to the wild bounty of purple ling heather that carpets the landscape each summer. It is a place of quiet majesty—where myth meets moor, and nature offers her richest nectar. We count ourselves deeply fortunate to tend bees in such a setting.
