Bees of Beyla

Honey steeped in myth, place and purity

Our Approach

In the rolling fields and hedgerows of East Yorkshire, our bees gather nectar from landscapes rich in history and wild beauty. Each jar of our honey is a reflection of its origin—specific to a single apiary, fully traceable, and alive with the character of the land. We take our name from Beyla, the Norse goddess of bees and barley. Her story, though quiet in the sagas, hums with meaning: fertility, sweetness, and the sacred labour of small things. It’s no coincidence that the Vikings once settled these very lands—leaving behind not only place names and stonework, but a legacy of reverence for nature, myth, and the rhythms of the earth. Just as Beyla tended the fields of the gods, our bees tend the meadows and hedgerows of East Yorkshire. Their honey is untouched—never pasteurised, never blended, never stripped of its essence. Nothing added. Nothing taken away..
